Teeth Whitening
The color of your teeth can affect the confidence you have about your smile. Although it is not permanent, tooth whitening (bleaching) is a simple dental treatment used to change the color of your teeth.
Some needs for tooth whitening may include:
- Fluorosis
- Normal ware of outer-tooth layer
- Stained teeth
Touch-ups may be needed every several years when receiving whitening treatment. They may be needed more often if you smoke, drink coffee, tea or wine. Whitening is non-evasive and ideal when enhancing the beauty of your smile.
Procedure
The Whitening Tray system is performed both in the dental office, and in your own home. It requires two visits to the dental office and maintenance within the home.
On the first visit to the office, molds will be taken of your teeth to create the clear plastic, custom trays. Upon returning to the office, the trays will be tested and adjusted (if necessary) to ensure proper fitting to your teeth.
Instructions will be given about how to care and provide maintenance for your teeth and your trays. To receive optimal results and increase the longevity of the treatment, it is recommended that you visit the dentist regularly.
